Peppermint–truly one of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs for soothing digestion. (Essential Oils Desk Reference) We use peppermint anytime someone has an upset tummy. We have discovered that a warm cup of tea is more soothing than any other ‘treatment’ we have tried. Also, this month, Jamie came down with a massive migraine. Migraines can lay him out for a week. (In addition to painkiller (which is never very effective))… I applied peppermint oil to his feet, as well as lavender. Then I applied PanAway to his temples and back into the hairline, and at the base of his neck. After a 15 minute massage, he went to sleep for 4 hours. He awoke without pain. Now, the residual effects of the migraine were still there and stuck around for several days; but he didn’t hurt anymore.
