A Symphony of Fragrance

Did you know…….
…that light fragrances are called ‘top notes’, while the more steady, heady, musky scents are classified as ‘middle’ or ‘bass’ notes?

Top Notes

  • Normally evaporate quickly
  • Usually have anti-viral properties
  • Tend to be light, fresh and uplifting
  • Generally not very expensive
  • Work Great in nebulizers

Middle Notes

  • Most essential oils considered middle notes
  • Give body to the blend
  • Have a balancing effect
  • Not always instantly evident, take a moment to appear
  • Usually warm, soft fragrances
  • Not recommended for Glass Jet Diffusers

Bass Notes

  • ‘Heavy’ oils with evident fragrance
  • Can also appear slowly, then be present for a long time
  • May slow down evaporation of other oilsIntense and heady
  • Often rich and relaxing
  • Most expensive of all oils
  • Do not diffuse easily

Please understand that the classification of ‘notes’ is subjective to opinion, and the aromas evaporation times depend on the oils used.
